Travel experience #4 – Croatia // Zadar (Day 6)

Our last day wasn’t planned. I didn’t wrote particular itinerary as it was our last day and we wanted to play it relax.

As our flat was located in Zadar, near the airport, we decided to visit this city, by foot, as our appartement was only at 2km walking to the city center.

We appreciated the calm of the city. We visited most the old town. We first walked on the bridge of the harbour of Zadar. Not that impressive but giving a nice view on the sea.

Crossing this bridge lead us to the old city center of Zadar.

We first headed to St Donatus church. We didn’t visited it but view was pretty nice on the outside, and we enjoyed the walk though roman remains which were also on this place. We also had a quick view on the Santa Maria church nearby.

We also saw the Old town’s walls, with beautiful Kopnena vrata. Public garden nearby was also very pleasant.

We enjoyed sitting next the sea organ, eating a good incea cream, and listen to those stange sounds, and after, seeing the Greeting to the Sun, modern installation made of glass.

To finish this almost perfect week, we eated to a typical restaurant named Konoba Stomorica, where I eated delicious croatian Bouillabaisse (how fun is that, considering we are coming from Marseille?), and the BF eated ragout, drinking very good croatian white wine, and being served like kings ! I higly recommand you that place.

Then, following the precious advice of our host, we headed to a bar named Svarog. It was salsa night that’s not our kind of music but we enjoyed it anyway !

So I think it’s time for what we liked and what we dislike in that trip :

  • Dislike =
    • Some places were too crowded ( Pltivice for example )
    • Some informations were sometimes hard to find (or we are a little dumb lol, like hiking paths or things like that)
  • Likes =
    • Food and wine ❀
    • Amazing landscapes, and oh the color and pureness of the water !
    • A lot of different things to do : city, islands, beach or moutain, all in one!
    • The kindness of croatian
    • The cost of life which is more cheap than in France

Attraction we loved the most = Krka National Park !

Attraction we disliked the most = our excursion to Kornati Islands

To conclude, I highly recommand you this destination !!

Have you ever been to Croatia? Do you plan to go?
