Hiking #3 – Canal de Marseille & Aqueduc de Roquefavour

Today’s article is about the longuest hiking I’ve done since I’ve started this nice activity !

We went hiking through path which was following the Canal de Marseille and leads straight to the Aqueduc de Roquefavour .
This hike is not really hard because it’s mostly straight, not a lot of ups & downs, but it’s a bit long (12km). We started to walk on the late morning and planned to have sandwich later.

So the hike starts in the garrigue . Small roads with rocks. Weather was really nice this day, not too hot, not too windy !
After few kms, you arrive next to the Canal de Marseille . It’s very strange because the water seems clear and polluted at the same time ! But I think you can drink it anyway because nowadays, it’s the main source of water of Marseille .

Then, you just have to follow the Canal , enjoying the beauty and the calm of nature around you !

Finally, after 6km, there is a magnificent view on the Aqueduc de Roquefavour. It’s the highest rock aqueduc in the world ! How amazing is that ? Nice place to have a sandwich, right ?
